Piano and Organ

I’m a versatile pianist who is comfortable playing in a range of genres, from Bach’s preludes and fugues to improvising on jazz standards. I studied music at the University of York and I hold diplomas with the Royal College of Organists, Trinity College London, ABRSM and the Guildhall School of Music.

I became a church organist at the age of twelve and have held appointments at a number of churches in Yorkshire and London. I’ve performed organ recitals around the country and have accompanied choirs and orchestras in major choral works. I’m also the organist behind Organoke®!

Piano Accompaniment

Each term, I accompany students taking instrumental and vocal exams, ranging from grade 1 to diploma level and from string exams to musical theatre. I take great care at putting candidates at ease before they play and stay until the exam is over to congratulate them!

I also accompany soloists and ensembles in concert. I particularly enjoy playing English song and Brahms’ clarinet / cello sonatas. But I always love taking on new challenges and have worked with German wind orchestras playing Vaughan-Williams to the cast of ‘The Archers’ singing ‘The Marrow Song’!

Organ Recitals

I enjoy visiting different organs around the world and have travelled as far as the Netherlands, the USA and Ukraine to try out different instruments. I’ve performed on a wide variety, from a harmonium in a small chapel on the island of Capri, to the grand organ of the Royal Albert Hall in London.

I have a diverse repertoire and have performed works by Pachelbel to Ligeti in recitals. As organist at St Giles’ Church in Camberwell, I have a passion for shining a light on the organ works of Samuel Sebastian Wesley, one of my predecessors.

I’m always happy to suggest wedding music ideas and sample recital programmes.

Here’s some examples of pieces in my repertoire.
